De Toorn and With Fang and Claw are out on Relapse Records on March 28

AMENRA will release two new EPs, De Toorn and With Fang and Claw, this Friday, March 28, 2025. Coinciding with the releases, the Belgian group will perform the third in a run of five sold-out shows at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. That night’s performance will be streamed live at 9:00 PM CET via YouTube.

The two EPs diverge in direction. De Toorn leans into drawn-out tension and catharsis, while With Fang and Claw traces earlier sonic motifs through a more direct lens. Both offer material developed outside the format of their full-length albums, suggesting less a split and more a dual entry point into past and forward trajectories. “De Toorn (Talisman)”, released ahead of the EP, closes the De Toorn side.

Formed in 1999 in Kortrijk, Belgium, AMENRA grew out of the local hardcore and metal underground, initially centred around Colin H. van Eeckhout and Lennart Bossu. Their work expanded through the Church of Ra, an artist collective that includes Oathbreaker, Wiegedood, and The Black Heart Rebellion, among others. Their discography spans the long-running Mass series, beginning with Mass I (2003) and extending to Mass VI (2017), followed by De Doorn (2021), which marked a shift in structure and language.
