Sascha Ring Returns as Apparat with A Hum of Maybe Album February 2026

Apparat has released a new track from his sixth studio album. The song shares its title with the record, A Hum Of Maybe, which arrives via Mute on 20 February 2026 in limited edition double turquoise vinyl, double vinyl, CD and digital formats.

The track moves through what Sascha Ring describes as the experience of being trapped inside one’s own head. Siren-like sounds, acoustic guitar and a motorik drum pattern build a sense of confinement before the chorus opens into lighter vocal textures. “Rooms felt too small, time folded in strange ways, and every sound seemed to hum with doubt,” Ring has said of the piece.

The album follows a six-year gap since 2019’s LP5. During that period, Ring experienced extended writer’s block. He responded by setting himself a task: produce one song idea per day, regardless of its state of completion. The practice continued for over six months in 2025, generating material from which the album’s eleven tracks were drawn.

The record concerns itself with love in its various forms—romantic, familial, self-directed—and with the instability inherent in maintaining those bonds. Ring has framed the title as a reference to existing in states of uncertainty rather than certainty. “It’s a maybe that is not weakness, but a space where things can grow,” he explains. The lyrical content examines simultaneity and intermediate conditions rather than binary outcomes.

The European tour begins in January 2026, with a London date at Outernet on 3 February.
