Dälek is an experimental hip-hop project founded in Union City, New Jersey in 1997 by Will Brooks (MC Dälek). Their sound incorporates elements of noise, industrial music, and shoegaze with politically charged lyricism. Over the years, their lineup has shifted, with producer Mike Manteca currently handling electronics and production. They have toured with acts such as Mogwai, The Melvins, and Isis, and released albums on labels including Ipecac Recordings and Profound Lore.
