Malcolm Mooney is an American musician, visual artist, and the original vocalist for the German krautrock band Can. His energetic and improvisational vocal style on Can’s early albums, including Monster Movie (1969) and Soundtracks (1970), contributed to the band’s pioneering sound in experimental and psychedelic rock. After departing from Can, Mooney pursued a career in art and music, occasionally collaborating with the band on later projects, making him a significant figure in the krautrock genre.
