Artist: Moaning
Moaning, formed in 2014 in Los Angeles, combines intense post-punk energy with atmospheric shoegaze textures. The trio consists of Sean Solomon (vocals, guitar), Pascal Stevenson (bass), and Andrew MacKelvie (drums). After making waves in LA’s DIY scene with their self-released EP, they caught the attention of Sub Pop Records. Their self-titled debut album (2018) showcased raw, angular guitar work and introspective lyrics, while their sophomore release “Uneasy Laughter” (2020) expanded their sound with synthesizers and darker electronic elements. The band’s music carries the urgency of punk rock while incorporating noise-rock experimentation and dreamy sonic landscapes.
