Six Finger Satellite is an American band formed in 1990 in Providence, Rhode Island, originally comprising J. Ryan, John MacLean, Peter Phillips, Chris Dixon, and Rick Pelletier. The group became associated with the post-punk and electronic rock scenes of the 1990s, releasing their debut album, The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird, in 1993. Their sound is characterized by tense rhythms, analog synthesizers, and a mix of guitars and electronics.
