Sorrows was a power pop band from New York City formed in the late 1970s by Arthur Alexander, Joey Cola, Ricky Street, and Jett Harris. Emerging from the remnants of The Poppees, the band performed in venues such as CBGB and Max’s Kansas City, fusing melodic songwriting with punk rock energy. They released their debut album Teenage Heartbreak in 1980, followed by Love Too Late, which was altered by their label against the band’s wishes. The band disbanded in the early 1980s, and their final recordings from 1981 are now being released as Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow.
