Swell Maps were an English experimental rock group formed in Birmingham in the early 1970s and active until 1980. They released two studio albums, A Trip to Marineville (1979) and Jane From Occupied Europe (1980), alongside several singles on their own Rather Records and later Rough Trade. The new release, The John Peel Sessions, compiles three BBC Radio 1 sessions recorded in 1978, 1979, and 1980, newly remastered and issued by Mute Records on 12 September 2025, in CD, digital, and vinyl formats.
