Artist: Tubeway Army

Tubeway Army was a British new wave band formed in 1977 by Gary Numan. Initially blending punk rock with electronic elements, the band became a pioneering force in synth-pop and electronic music. Their 1979 album Replicas featured the hit single “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?” and introduced Numan’s distinct use of synthesizers, dystopian themes, and robotic vocals. With its atmospheric and futuristic style, Tubeway Army helped define a new musical direction, and Gary Numan’s subsequent solo career continued the trajectory started with the band.
