Algorithms decide who sees your work, AI floods the internet with synthetic content, and giant platforms own the conversation. The ArtRing, inspired by the resurgence of the webrings phenomenon, is an alternative, a return to the idea of a web built on discovery and community. It’s a curated network of artists, musicians, labels, writers, and independent creators.
By joining, you add a small widget to your site with three simple links: PREV and NEXT (both load random sites inside the network) and INDEX (full directory). Visitors can navigate through the ring, discovering genuine human work outside the mainstream. It’s a simple, powerful way to drive traffic and build connections.
Who can join?
We are looking for passionate, independent projects. If you run one of the following, we want you in the circle:
- Artists & Photographers
- Musicians & Bands
- Independent Record Labels
- Publishers & Zines
- Personal Blogs about art, music, independent cinema, and counter-culture
- Other creative projects that don’t fit in a box.
ArtRing is a positive, creative space. We do not accept sites that promote hate speech, racism, doxxing, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.
How It Works
- Add the Code. Choose a theme (light or dark) and copy the widget snippet. Paste it onto the page where you want the ArtRing to appear (e.g., in your site’s footer or after your posts). The widget must be live on your site before you apply.

- Get Approved. We manually review every submission to maintain quality and coherence within the network. Approval is at our discretion and not guaranteed. Once approved, your site will be automatically added to the ArtRing.
The Rules
- Human Creators Only: All content must be created by humans. We do not accept AI-generated art, music, writing, or any synthetic content.
- Independent & Non-Corporate: No big company sites, e-commerce stores, or sites made primarily for ad revenue.
- Quality Content: The site must be well-maintained and contain original content.
- The Code Stays: The ArtRing widget must remain on your site to stay in the ring. We run automated checks.
