Black Lips Record at Sound At Manor Studio for Season Of The Peach
Black Lips present Season Of The Peach, their latest full-length statement arriving September 19. The gap spans three years since Apocalypse Love appeared, which mixed Soviet synthesisers with pharmaceutical haze and political upheaval across twelve tracks of unhinged dance music set against apocalyptic backdrops.

Description: Black Lips announce Season Of The Peach, their first album in three years, arriving September 19 via Fire Records.
The new album runs forty minutes across fourteen tracks, threading garage rock through new wave pop while country music collides with western film scores. The recording took place at Oakley Munson‘s Sound At Manor studio in the Catskills, marking the first album captured there since the drummer established the facility in 2020. The band disconnected from urban routines to work with analogue tape, pursuing spontaneous energy that mirrors their live performances.
“The real outliers don’t say that they’re outliers,” Munson explains. “My favourite outliers in music are those people who are trying to be normal.” Jared Swilley adds context: “I always had an affinity for people who were naive in thinking they could crack into the mainstream, but weren’t aware of how off-kilter they were.”
“Our message has always been simple,” Swilley states. “We’re just trying to rock and have a good time.” Munson concludes: “Hopefully there’s some room left for that in the world, as fucked up as it is.”
Black Lips formed in Dunwoody, Georgia after guitarist Cole Alexander and bassist Jared Swilley departed the Renegades, with guitarist Ben Eberbaugh leaving the Reruns. Drummer Joe Bradley joined months later, and they released their first seven-inch in 2002 on their Die Slaughterhaus label. Current lineup includes founding members Alexander and Swilley alongside drummer Oakley Munson and saxophonist Zumi Rosow, who became the first female member of the band.
