Paris Olympic performance leads to studio project by Cerrone and Christine
After appearing together at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Champions Parade, Cerrone and Christine and the Queens have completed a new collaborative project. The first track, Catching Feelings, is out now. It will be followed by a 4-track EP featuring new material developed between the two artists. Christine and the Queens also directed the video for the song.

The collaboration began with a performance of Supernature on a temporary stage at the Arc de Triomphe, where Christine joined Cerrone for a reworked live version of the 1977 single. The track, originally part of Cerrone’s fourth album and co-written with Lene Lovich, has remained his most recognisable piece, periodically reissued and sampled since its release. Their joint appearance at the event led to a series of studio sessions in which Catching Feelings emerged.
The track runs under four minutes and draws structurally from late 1970s disco while retaining a more stripped-down vocal production. Lyrically, it references vulnerability and desire with a direct tone. Christine’s vocal performance is left relatively untreated, while Cerrone’s percussion and bass sequences remain close to his previous recordings. The production does not reference the Olympic performance directly, though the timing of the release capitalises on renewed attention around Supernature and Cerrone’s presence at the games.
No release date for the EP has been announced. The remaining tracks were recorded over a short period following the Paris event.
Cerrone, born Marc Cerrone in 1952 in Vitry-sur-Seine, France, began as a drummer before moving into electronic music production in the mid-1970s. He achieved commercial success with albums such as Love in C Minor (1976), Supernature (1977), and Golden Touch (1978). His work has been sampled by Daft Punk, The Avalanches, Beastie Boys, Jamie xx, and others. In the 2000s, he began producing with contemporary artists and DJs including Bob Sinclar, Dimitri from Paris, and Disclosure. Cerrone has released more than a dozen albums and continues to perform live, often with orchestral or large-scale visual elements.
Christine and the Queens, born Héloïse Letissier in Nantes in 1988, has released music under several names including Redcar. The 2023 album PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE was produced with Mike Dean and includes guest vocals by Madonna. Previous releases include Redcar les adorables étoiles (2022), Chris (2018), and Chaleur Humaine (2014). Christine has cited performance art, dance, and theatre as recurring frameworks for his work. Public statements and recordings have regularly addressed issues related to gender, identity, and language. He has collaborated with Charli XCX, Dâm-Funk, 070 Shake, and Caroline Polachek. Letissier has performed at international festivals and in institutional contexts, including the Opéra Garnier and the BBC Proms.
