Chris Corsano Releases New Single and Music Video “The Full-Measure Wash Down”

American drummer and multi-instrumentalist Chris Corsano has released his latest single, “The Full-Measure Wash Down,” accompanied by a music video directed by Kim Alpert. This track is from his forthcoming album, “The Key (Became The Important Thing [& Then Just Faded Away]),” set to be released on June 28.

Chris Corsano, born in 1975 in Englewood, New Jersey, is acclaimed for his innovative and versatile drumming. He has performed with numerous artists across various genres, including Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, Yoko Ono, Björk, and Paul Flaherty. Corsano is known for his inventive solo performances, utilizing a wide array of instruments and objects to create unique sounds​​​.

​”The Full-Measure Wash Down” features a blend of Gnawa-inspired string drum acoustics and a post-punk drone, enriched with percussive guitars and minimalist funk-rock elements. Corsano’s approach to this album involves playing and overdubbing every instrument himself, demonstrating his prowess in creating intricate and dynamic musical compositions​.

His upcoming album highlights his focus on free improvisation, noise, and acoustic experiments, merging these with elements of hard rock and post-punk. “The Key (Became The Important Thing [& Then Just Faded Away])” promises to be a significant addition to Corsano’s diverse body of work, showcasing his unique blend of rhythmic and melodic innovation​​​.
