Archive Frontman Dave Pen Returns with New Solo Album November 2025
Dave Pen has released a new solo album titled Life Inside The Feeder Mind through JAR Records. The album is available on LP and digital formats. Pen is a vocalist and guitarist based on the south coast of England. He serves as co-frontman of the art-rock band Archive. Archive has performed arena shows across Europe and achieved Top 10 chart positions in several countries. Pen is also part of the duo BirdPen and has recorded two albums as We Are Bodies with composer Robin Foster. His first solo album, Abran Wish & The Light Party, was released four years prior to the current record.

Life Inside The Feeder Mind incorporates alternative rock, progressive rock, post-punk, psychedelia and electronic music. Pen has described the material as originating from “a dark and often confused state of mind” and referenced the writing process as “sonic therapy.” He stated: “Our world is one of continued reminders of growing uncertainty… aren’t all our brains in constant feed mode, with our mouths wide open to be drip-fed fear and worry, with just an occasional morsel of hope?”
Three singles have been released: ‘No Hiding’, ‘Life Life Life Life Life Life Life Life’, and ‘Feedermind’, accompanied by visualisers and videos.
Pen runs ultra-marathons. A documentary titled Run Again documents his participation in the Spine Race, a 268-mile footrace that crosses the Pennine Way through England during winter. The film received its European premiere in Paris on 12th November before an audience of 2500. Two UK screenings are scheduled: 20th November at Vue Cinema, Leicester Square in London, and 23rd November at City Eye in Southampton. Both screenings will include a Q&A with Pen. The London event will also feature a live performance by Archive.
Run Again, directed by Alexis Berg, has received jury awards at multiple international festivals. The film contains footage of Archive returning to live performance after the pandemic lockdowns and examines the psychological and physical demands of extreme endurance racing.
