Dawn of Ashes, initiated in 2000 by Kristof Bathory in Los Angeles, began as an aggrotech act and subsequently moved through various configurations of industrial, black metal, and extreme electronic styles. Early material such as Sacred Fever and In the Acts of Violence drew on harsh EBM and horror aesthetics, eventually giving way to more guitar-driven compositions by the late 2000s.
