Billboard Heart by Deep Sea Diver arrives on Sub Pop in February 2025

Deep Sea Diver has released the official video for “Let Me Go,” a track featuring Madison Cunningham. The song is part of the upcoming album Billboard Heart, scheduled for release on February 28, 2025, through Sub Pop.

The video, filmed in Los Angeles on January 5, 2025, was directed by Jessica Dobson, Tyler Kalberg, and Peter Mansen. Influenced by French New Wave cinema, it follows Dobson and Cunningham throughout a day in the city. According to Dobson, the collaboration developed spontaneously in the studio when she began playing a guitar riff she had in mind since high school. Cunningham built upon the riff, while co-producer Andy Park added a drum machine. The song was largely completed within a few hours. The video was shot with a similar approach, featuring two artists from Los Angeles revisiting their hometown. The production took place just before wildfires began in the area, adding an unintended significance to the footage.

The album Billboard Heart includes the title track, “Let Me Go,” and “Shovel.” It will be available in CD, LP, and digital formats. The album cover was created by photographer Neil Krug as part of his Spirit II series.

Jessica Dobson is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, active in various musical projects. She has worked with Beck, The Shins, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Deep Sea Diver serves as her primary project, incorporating elements of alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental sounds. After releasing Impossible Weight in 2020, Deep Sea Diver signed with Sub Pop for Billboard Heart, marking a new phase in the band’s career.
