Deerhoof formed in San Francisco in 1994. The current line-up consists of Greg Saunier (drums), Satomi Matsuzaki (bass, vocals), John Dieterich (guitar), and Ed Rodríguez (guitar). Over three decades, the band released twenty studio albums on various labels, including Kill Rock Stars, Polyvinyl, and Joyful Noise. Collaborations have included projects with David Bazan, Marc Ribot, and Juana Molina.
The latest release, Noble and Godlike in Ruin, came out on 25 April 2025 through Joyful Noise. The album’s tracks reference themes of dehumanisation and exile, partially influenced by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Guest contributions include vocals by Saul Williams. Musical arrangements move between heavy riffs, sharp rhythmic shifts, and passages with orchestral instrumentation.
Across the two dates in London, Deerhoof will perform material from the new record along with selections from earlier albums, with setlists expected to vary between nights.
Bush Hall is located at 310 Uxbridge Road, Shepherd’s Bush, London W12 7LJ. Tickets can be purchased via Dice or alternative link.
