Audio-visual artist Dez Dare, also known as Darren Smallman, is releasing a new 12-track album titled These Days Are Wild & Blind. Darren Smallman grew up in Geelong, Australia, entering the local punk and rock music scene in 1990. During this period, he performed on stage alongside acts including 5678s, Fugazi, and the Cosmic Psychos. He subsequently directed his focus toward managing record labels, including God Unknown, BATTLE WORLDWIDE, and Low Transit Industries, and has been a member of the bands Thee Vinyl Creatures, The Sound Platform, and Warped. In the 2020s, he established a home studio in Brighton, UK, to produce music and videos under the pseudonym Dez Dare.

The lyrics for the current collection were drafted between concert performances in Berlin and Brussels, focusing on personal themes and the concept of time. Musically, the recordings encompass acoustic instrumentation, 8-bit rhythmic chants, and distorted guitar textures. The tracks feature vocal contributions from Mike Gale of Black Nielson and Co-pilgrim, alongside vocals and violin by Maria Marzaioli of YOU&TH and Slum of Legs.
