EROS Announces Debut Album “Your Truth Is A Lie” Set for Release on 1 November via Downwards Records
EROS, a trio consisting of Karl O’Connor (Regis, UK), Liam Andrews (My Disco, Australia), and Boris Wilsdorf (Andere Baustelle Tonstudio / Einstürzende Neubauten), has announced the release of their debut full-length album titled “Your Truth Is A Lie.” The album will be released on 1 November 2024 through Downwards Records.

The album features contributions from notable musicians such as Annie Hogan and Rosa Anschütz and builds upon the themes explored in the trio’s 2022 mini-album “A Southern Code.” Two tracks from the previous release have been reworked for the new album, expanding the group’s sound with the involvement of guest artists.
The album’s production reflects the combined experience of the trio. Boris Wilsdorf, who began his career at Hansa Tonstudios and later worked as the engineer, producer, and sound technician for Einstürzende Neubauten, applies his sound mixing skills to the project. Karl O’Connor, known for his work in electronic music, particularly under the alias Regis, contributes his expertise in rhythmic composition, while Liam Andrews brings in his bass elements, creating a sound that integrates their individual abilities.

Karl O’Connor, also known by his stage name Regis, is a British electronic music producer and DJ. He is one of the founders of the influential record label Downwards Records, established in 1993, which played a significant role in the development of the Birmingham sound—a style of minimal and industrial techno. O’Connor’s work is noted for its raw, stripped-down approach, often utilizing repetitive loops and a distinctive rhythmic style. Over the years, he has collaborated with various artists and has been involved in numerous projects, including the group Sandwell District, which further solidified his reputation in the electronic music scene.
Liam Andrews is an Australian musician and a member of the band My Disco, known for their minimalist approach to post-punk and experimental rock. Andrews has been an active part of the music industry for several years, contributing his bass playing and compositional skills to various projects.
Boris Wilsdorf is a German sound engineer and producer who has worked extensively with Einstürzende Neubauten, a pioneering industrial band from Berlin. Wilsdorf’s career began at Hansa Tonstudios, where he worked under Jon Caffery before becoming Neubauten’s go-to engineer and producer. His experience and technical expertise have made him a prominent figure in the sound engineering field.
“Your Truth Is A Lie” is expected to further establish EROS’s unique sound, merging the diverse influences and backgrounds of its members into a singular musical vision.
