Drop Out III, a collaborative album by Gnod and White Hills, is scheduled for release on Thrill Jockey Records. The collaborative singles, “Nothing NEU! Under the Sky” and “Spaced Man,” mark the latest output from the partnership between the two bands. Their tour includes a live performance at Roadburn Festival, where they will present their collaboration for the first time.

“Nothing NEU! Under the Sky” is an unreleased track from the original Drop Out sessions. The title references the influence of Neu!, a key figure in the Krautrock movement, on their collaboration. For those interested, we have recently published a long interview with Michael Rother.

“Spaced Man” has been expanded from its previous versions, incorporating additional instrumentation and a revised mix. The track features rhythmic patterns and vocal layering that create a shifting, dynamic structure.

Drop Out III features material recorded during the Drop Out sessions, some of which has not been previously released. The double LP includes expanded versions of existing tracks, featuring new arrangements, mixes, and instrumentation. Examples include new versions of “Run-A-Round” and “Drop Out.” One LP contains previously unreleased material, including “Air Streams.” A digital download accompanying the album contains additional bonus tracks from the same era.
