Eight tracks of urban attrition and AI consciousness arrive March 27
The sonic architecture of Automated Paradise spans eight tracks, scheduled for release on March 27, 2026, through Dimple Discs. Available on CD and transparent vinyl limited to 800 copies, the project consolidates the collaboration between Jah Wobble and Jon Klein, following their 2021 deconstruction of Metal Box and the subsequent A Brief History of Now.

The recordings, tracked over three months at London’s Tuned In Studio and Ground Control, favoured raw improvisation over pre-ordained architecture. Klein, acting as engineer and mixer, fractures the guitar landscape with interjections of clarinet, electric piano, and glockenspiel. The rhythmic propulsion is handled by a rotation of Gilberto Giannacchi, Izumi Karaage, and John Tian Chi Wardle, with Keiko Yamazaki providing vocal textures at the periphery.
Wobble’s lyrics, drafted during transits across the London rail network, discard rhetoric to observe the automation of consciousness and the attrition of the urban fabric. Tracks like “Fading Away,” “Terminal Terminal The End,” and the instrumental closer “Brockwell Lido” map a line between infrastructure collapse and the encroachment of AI—themes mirrored by Wobble’s work with community music projects in Merton.
Jah Wobble (born John Wardle) established the low-end parameters of post-punk with Public Image Limited between 1978 and 1980, before pivoting toward the dub-heavy drifts of Jah Wobble’s Invaders of the Heart. His discography includes collisions with Holger Czukay, Pharoah Sanders, and Björk. In 2024, Faber & Faber issued an expanded edition of his autobiography, Dark Luminosity.
Jon Klein held the guitar chair in Siouxsie and the Banshees for seven years, appearing on the studio albums Peepshow, Superstition, and The Rapture. A co-founder of Specimen and a fixture of the Batcave nightclub, his production and session credits include Shriekback, Talvin Singh, and Sinéad O’Connor. Through his Ground Control firm, he has overseen recordings for Fangoria and David Devant and his Spirit Wife.
