Sascha Konietzko and Lucia Cifarelli Return With KMFDM Single Oubliette
German industrial rock group KMFDM have released a new single titled Oubliette on 12th December 2025 through Metropolis Records. The track appears on their twenty-fourth studio album Enemy, which is scheduled for release on 6th February 2026.

The single’s title derives from the French verb “oublier” and refers to a specific type of dungeon accessible only through a ceiling trapdoor. The band describes it as a space designed for forgetting. Red our interview with KMFDM here.
Enemy was written by Sascha ‘Käpt’n K’ Konietzko and Lucia Cifarelli, with drums performed by Andy Selway. Guitarist Tidor Nieddu, based in London, contributes to the album. Annabella Konietzko appears on the track YOÜ, her first songwriting credit with the group following performances during the band’s fortieth anniversary tour.
The album contains tracks including Catch & Kill, Outernational Intervention, L’Etat, Vampyr, and Stray Bullet 2.0. A European tour begins two weeks after the album’s release date.
KMFDM was established by Sascha Konietzko in Hamburg in 1984. The group’s early recordings were made in Germany before relocating to the United States, where they signed to Chicago label Wax Trax! The track Juke Joint Jezebel from 1995 reached the Billboard charts and appeared on soundtracks for films including Bad Boys and Mortal Kombat. During the 1990s, bands including Rammstein and Korn performed as opening acts on KMFDM tours.
The group stopped activity in 1999 after completing their tenth album for Wax Trax! Konietzko reformed KMFDM in 2002 with Metropolis Records, bringing in vocalist Lucia Cifarelli from the band Drill and bassist Tim Skold, who subsequently joined Marilyn Manson. Konietzko and Cifarelli returned to Germany in 2008 and have maintained a schedule of recording and touring. Their previous album Let Go was released in 2024. A remixed and remastered edition of Hau Ruck was issued in May 2025, twenty years after the original.
