Released via Kush Arora Productions on 30 May 2025, Timeslave III twists industrial noise with restructured percussion

Kush Arora, operating under the alias Only Now, returns with Timeslave III, a new full-length release scheduled for 30 May 2025 via Kush Arora Productions. The album coincides with the ten-year mark of the Only Now project and compiles a year’s worth of live material, studio production, and international collaboration. It follows a string of releases on Bokeh Versions, Infinite Machine, Discrepant, Polaar, Dutty Artz, and Club Yeke.

Timeslave III departs from prior structures, favouring longform compositions arranged after a sequence of performances across the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan in 2024. Sessions were later refined at 25th Street Recording in Oakland and Slime Lord Studios in Berkeley, with additional mixing handled by Gabriel Shepard. Mastering was completed by Nahash.

The album intersects industrial percussion, modified Hindustani rhythms, and Indo-Caribbean sound system tropes. There is a sustained presence of distortion and repetition, alternating with segments of restraint and space. Contributions come from Argentinian producer Jaijiu, percussionist Dave Sharma, and Kolkata-based musician Shubho Sharma. Visual elements include original artwork by Arora and a logo by Karmazid.

Only Now’s catalogue has maintained a hybrid focus since inception, integrating Punjabi musical forms with bass-driven electronics, metal textures, and drones. This methodology continues on Timeslave III, albeit stretched into extended structures and punctuated with abrupt tonal shifts.

Arora’s previous collaborations reflect a wide geographical and stylistic range. He has recorded with Iggor Cavalera (Sepultura), Ratigan Era (Hakuna Kulala), Flore (Polaar), Peter Arensdorf (Beneath The Ruins / King Woman), Toumba, Cutty Ranks, and Gappy Ranks. Future releases are in progress with Prison Religion, Ahadadream, and Ravish Momin (Sunken Cages).

A release event for Timeslave III is scheduled for 30 May 2025 at F8, San Francisco, featuring a live set by Only Now and performances from DJ Lycox, DJ Plead, Travieza, Ari B, and Lloyd.

Kush Arora, based in California, began producing under the Only Now moniker in 2015. His work combines elements of Punjabi music with industrial noise, doom metal, dub, and dancehall. Outside the project, Arora has collaborated with artists in the fields of metal, experimental electronics, and diasporic club music. His releases have appeared on multiple independent labels, with a preference for limited runs and digital-only formats. Arora’s background includes deep engagement with dubplate culture, Indian classical instrumentation, and live hardware performance. His collaborations have crossed continents, reflecting a persistent focus on hybrid sound systems and altered rhythmic logics.
