Warp Records: Pioneers of Electronic and Experimental Sound

Founded in 1989 in Sheffield, Warp Records quickly gained recognition for its role in electronic music, especially within the UK’s early techno scene. The label’s roster includes influential artists like Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Boards of Canada, and it has been key in the development of IDM through landmark releases like Artificial Intelligence. Expanding beyond traditional releases, Warp has introduced innovations such as Bleep.com, a platform for DRM-free music.
