Description: Italian composer Laura Loriga releases Moon Talk EP September 26 via God Unknown Records. Three tracks recorded London featuring international musicians.

Loriga began her recording career in the mid-2010s, initially working under various project names before adopting her own name for 2022’s Vever album. Her previous releases include collaborations with Italian post-rock outfit Giardini di Mirò and appearances on soundtracks for films including Shelter and Lionsgate’s Mindcage. She has worked as a session musician for songwriters Jaye Bartell and Grimm Grimm, and contributed to recordings by violinist Anni Rossi. Her compositional work typically centers on piano and organ arrangements, with additional instrumentation provided by a rotating cast of musicians across sessions in New York and London.

Moon Talk contains two tracks intended for the forthcoming Almas album—”Atlas” and “Saint Sylvester”—plus an additional piece, “May You.” Loriga wrote the material between 2024 and 2025 while based in London. The EP was recorded across multiple sessions, with engineering and mixing handled by Euan Hinshelwood at Vacant Studios in London during December 2024 and May 2025.

“Atlas” takes its conceptual framework from a Nabokov short story and features guitar by Ofir Ganon and synthesizer by Andrea Giommi. “Saint Sylvester” includes bass from Hinshelwood and chalumeau by Stefano Michelotti. The EP’s third track, “May You,” adds guitar by David John Morris to Loriga’s core arrangement.

The composer describes the EP’s organizing principle as “compossibility”—a philosophical concept concerning the coexistence of different possibilities. This framework applies to what she terms the overlapping of “moments, places, and people” within the musical arrangements.

Moon Talk is Loriga’s second release for God Unknown Records, following her 2022 collaboration with the label on Vever. The digital release will be available across streaming platforms from September 26, with physical formats yet to be announced.
