Macbeth compresses a decade of Drainolith material into 30 minutes
Alex Moskos, operating as Drainolith, issues a new full-length titled Macbeth on 5 June 2025 via She Sells Records, his own imprint. The release coincides with a UK tour in June featuring Gretchen Aury (Tristwch Y Fenywod, Guttersnipe, The Ephemeron Loop) and Sidney Coke (Tristwch Y Fenywod, Slaylor Moon, The Courtneys). The LP will be available digitally and on vinyl, with physical editions reaching mail order buyers and show attendees in July.

The record, initially conceived as a double LP, condenses nearly a decade of intermittent recording into ten tracks running under thirty minutes. Material spans electronic abrasion, fractured rhythms, minimal textural sampling, and stray guitar passages.
Production is largely handled by Moskos, with two tracks credited to The Collection Crew, a loosely affiliated Montreal unit involved in a number of uncredited local records. Contributions across the album come from Dom Alexander (Buffalo MRI), Jon Shapiro (Disguises), Brian Seeger (Gold Sword, Pon De Replay), Nate Young and John Olson (Wolf Eyes), Jessica Mensch (The Powers), Andre Theriault (Laughing), Jacques Le Dref (Robble Grouse), and Josh Bastien (Father Dust). Mastering is by Jack Callahan, cover art by Jessica Mensch, and typography/layout by Andrew Gibson.
The album is the second LP on She Sells Records, following Moskos’ 1999 release under the name Kubelka. Live performances for the new material will align with bookings alongside acts such as Triple Negative (Penultimate Press) and Nocturnal Emissions.
Alex Moskos, based in Montreal, began operating as Drainolith in the late 1990s. Parallel to his solo recordings, he played guitar in AIDS Wolf and later joined ensembles including Dan’l Boone (with Neil Hagerty, Nate Young, and Charles Ballas) and SEF III with Max Eilbacher and Duncan Moore. In 2023, he collaborated with Raven Chacon in The Difficult Messages Band. Outside of music, he works in community radio at CKUT 90.3FM and resides in the Hochelaga district.
