New single “Warning Signs” precedes February LP on Kind Violence Records
Manchester post-punk band Ist Ist have announced their fifth studio album, Dagger, scheduled for release on 6 February 2026 through their own label Kind Violence Records. The album was produced by Joe Cross, whose previous credits include work with Hurts, Courteeners, and Slow Readers Club.

The announcement arrives alongside a new single, “Warning Signs”. Vocalist Adam Houghton described the song as addressing regret and failed communication in relationships, stating he wanted to capture “that gut-wrenching moment when you realise pride and fear have cost you the person you love.”
The accompanying video, directed by Joyce Van Doorn and edited by Shaolin Pete, incorporates live and backstage footage from the band’s recent European tour.
Ist Ist formed in Manchester in 2014. The group comprises Adam Houghton (vocals), Andy Keating (bass), Mat Peters (guitar), and Joel Kay (drums). They have released four studio albums to date: Architecture (2020), The Art of Lying (2021), Protagonists (2022), and Light a Bigger Fire (2024). The band operates independently through Kind Violence Records, which they founded to maintain control over their releases.
The band begins a UK tour this week with dates in Leeds (28 November), Glasgow (29 November), London (5 December), and Birmingham (6 December). A further run of shows follows in April 2026, taking in Norwich, Exeter, Oxford, Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham, Bristol, and Brighton. The tour concludes at Manchester’s Albert Hall on 1 May 2026, with support from Desperate Journalist and The Youth Play.
