The single is included in Mari Kattman’s upcoming album Year of the Katt

Mari Kattman will release Sharp Shooter on 16 May 2025 through Metropolis Records, the second track made public in advance of her upcoming solo album Year of the Katt, scheduled for 20 June. This will be her third solo album and first for the Philadelphia-based label.

Sharp Shooter follows Anemia, issued earlier this year. Both tracks were written, recorded, and produced by Kattman. She has described the production process of the album as entirely self-managed, completed over an extended period.

Mari Kattman is a US-based electronic musician and vocalist. She has been active since the early 2010s. Her work includes collaborations with Assemblage 23, Ivardensphere, Jean-Marc Lederman, Aesthetische, Solitary Experiments, Psy’Aviah, Comaduster, Neuroticfish, Cassetter, This Morn Omina, Mephisto Walz, BlackCarBurning, Aiboforcen, and Interface. In addition to solo releases, she is also one half of Helix, a project formed with Tom Shear.

Her solo output spans elements associated with electro, EBM, ambient, industrial and hip hop-adjacent production. Previous singles include Fever Shakes, Swallow, and URGOD.AI.
