California-based electronic musician and sound designer Carolyn Fok, operating as CYRNAI, released the single Echo Language Remix One on March 18, 2026, via the Memoir of Sound label. This release is the first in a series of remixes derived from the track Echo Language, which originally appeared on the April 2025 album Calamity of Beauty. While the original version utilized pulsating sequencer rhythms and sound effects over a heavy beat, the remix adopts an industrial techno-funk structure.

The release follows a high-output period in 2025, during which Fok issued Calamity of Beauty in April and Chrysalis in August. The latter, released under her legal name, focused on analog textures and cosmological themes. Both titles received awards from Clouzine Magazine and LIT Music. In the current decade, Fok has performed live alongside Morton Subotnick, Suzanne Ciani, and Drew McDowall, and participated in panel discussions at the MUTEK festival in San Francisco.

Carolyn Fok began recording in her early teens using a TEAC recorder and self-constructed instruments, influenced by British electronic acts such as Cabaret Voltaire and The Human League. During the 1980s, she was a member of the San Francisco groups A State of Mind, Trial, and Rhythm & Noise. Her 1996 album Transfiguration featured guitarist Elliot Sharp, while the 2001 double CD The Listener included Tim Story. In 2011, she collaborated with guitarist Joaquin Lievano on the album Magic Realism. The label Dark Entries compiled her early work into the six-LP box set CYRNAI 1980-90 in 2018, the same year her music was included in the Cherry Red compilation Third Noise Principle. In 2024, she collaborated with scientist Steve Bryson on the two volumes of Spacetime Canvas.
