New album MIIEN from MIEN available now on Fuzz Club with tour starting in Portsmouth
MIEN, the project formed by Alex Maas (The Black Angels), Rishi Dhir (Elephant Stone), John-Mark Lapham (The Earlies), and Robb Kidd (Golden Dawn Arkestra), released their second album MIIEN on Fuzz Club last Friday. The release arrives shortly before their UK tour, which begins on 28 April in Portsmouth.

MIIEN was recorded across Montreal, Abilene, and Austin, reflecting the group’s geographically scattered nature. The material developed through remote file exchanges, with occasional in-person sessions, including one during the 2018 South by Southwest festival. Unlike most tracks that evolved separately, “Mirror” originated during a rare group rehearsal. The band released a lyric video for “Mirror” earlier this week. The new album MIIEN is available now on Fuzz Club.
The UK and European tour dates include shows in Portsmouth, Leeds, Manchester, Margate, Brighton, and London, followed by performances in Paris, Haarlem, Eindhoven (at Fuzz Club Festival), Munich, and Berlin. Tickets are available through the band’s official link.
MIEN emerged from a series of informal collaborations that began in 2004 when Rishi Dhir met Alex Maas during SXSW in Austin. Shortly after, Dhir connected with John-Mark Lapham. Over the following years, these encounters developed into the MIEN project, formally completed with the addition of drummer Robb Kidd in 2018. Their first album, MIEN, was released in 2018 through Rocket Recordings. The group’s sound draws from backgrounds in psychedelic rock, Indian classical influences, and electronic production.
