Montreal collective En Fer have detailed their next full-length release, À propos des diverses formes de Passerelles, arriving April 29, 2025, on CD, digital platforms, and in a limited reel-to-reel edition.

The four-track album builds on themes introduced in their previous EP La Collision (2024), expanding into a loosely conceptual framework drawn from a fictional alchemical-astronomical manuscript attributed to the band.

Each track corresponds to a so-called “Passerelle”—a kind of metaphysical threshold—tied to specific symbolic pairings:

• The Ether and Universal Intelligence (Intuition): an electronic punk piece marked by volatile rhythms and bursts of distortion.
• The Astral Fire and Ferrous Alchemy (Transformation): a dense, feedback-driven composition weaving doom, noise, and synth-heavy progressions.
• The Moon and Philosophical Sulphur (Self-Mastery): structured around a slow-building drone and culminating in high-volume saturation.
• The Dawn and Celestial Void (Enlightenment): a subdued closer anchored in sparse instrumentation and repetition.

The album was produced and mastered by Dominic Jasmin, who also worked on La Collision.

En Fer will mark the album’s release with a live show on April 29 at Blue Dog, Montreal, with support from Tempête Solaire, a group featuring Elyze Venne-Deshaies, Eric Quach, and Eric Craven.

Formed in 2017, En Fer includes Charly Buss, Michel Meunier, Reüel Ordoñez, Martin Sasseville, and Alex Pelchat. The group has worked consistently within a field of improvised noise, psychedelic rock, and amplified ritualism. Their self-described “GROS ROCK” approach privileges immediacy, density, and collaborative structure over fixed genre constraints.
