Ian Lynch returns to …And Take The Black Worm With Me
One Leg One Eye will release an expanded edition of the debut album …And Take The Black Worm With Me on 6 March 2026 via Cold Spring. Originally issued in 2022 as a CD on Nyahh Records, this version adds a previously unreleased track, Sympathetic Invertebrate Ritual, recorded specifically for this reissue.

The project is the solo work of Ian Lynch, a founding member of the Dublin-based group Lankum, accompanied by live member George Brennan. Lynch began the project in 2021, developing a sound that incorporates elements of black metal, noise, drone, and folk music. The material for the album was gathered over twelve months, during which Lynch recorded in various locations across Dublin. These sessions included field recordings and vocal performances accompanied by a shruti box, conducted in an abandoned warehouse where his father was formerly employed.
The compositions on …And Take The Black Worm With Me are long-form pieces characterized by heavy use of drone. The new track, Sympathetic Invertebrate Ritual, extends the original tracklist which was first made available in a limited production run that sold out shortly after its initial release.
Ian Lynch is a musician, singer, and researcher from Dublin, Ireland. He is a co-founder of Lankum, a band that emerged from the traditional music circuit to gain international attention with albums such as Between the Earth and Sky and False Lankum, the latter of which was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2023. Lynch holds a degree in Folklore and has hosted the podcast Fire Draw Near, which examines the history and transmission of Irish traditional songs. His work outside of Lankum includes collaborations within the experimental and traditional music scenes in Ireland, focusing on the intersection of archival material and contemporary sound manipulation.
