Prostitute Release ‘Mr. Dada’ Video, Announce Mute Signing

Dearborn, Michigan outfit Prostitute have joined the Mute roster. The label will issue a widespread release of the band’s debut, Attempted Martyr, on 13 March 2026. The reissue arrives on CD and two vinyl variants: a red pressing and a ‘Lebanese sunburst’ edition available via Dinked. Coinciding with the announcement, the group has circulated a video for the track ‘Mr. Dada’. Following a recent European run that included an appearance at Le Guess Who?, the band have confirmed a return to the UK and Europe for spring 2026. The itinerary includes appearances at Roadburn and Supersonic, as well as two nights at Moth Club in London, the first of which (28 April) is already at capacity.

Formed in Dearborn, a city with the highest concentration of Arab Americans in the US, Prostitute is the project of vocalist Moe Kazra and drummer Andrew Kaster, later expanded to include Ross Babinski, Bret Wall, and Dylan Zaranski. The group’s output channels the specific tensions of their geography; Kazra and Kaster developed Attempted Martyr as a conceptual response to post-9/11 xenophobia and the performative expectations placed on Arab identity. Musically, the five-piece utilizes sampler debris and noise rock structures to articulate a narrative of “radical terrorism” and alienation. The record, which has drawn notice from Pitchfork and The Quietus since its initial limited circulation, positions itself not as a manifesto but as a jagged, satiric character study.
