MIEN confirms their second album for early 2025 via Fuzz Club

The psych-rock group MIEN, consisting of Alex Maas (The Black Angels), Rishi Dhir (Elephant Stone), John-Mark Lapham (The Earlies), and Robb Kidd (Golden Dawn Arkestra), has announced their first UK and European tour since 2018. This marks their return ahead of the release of their highly anticipated second album, scheduled for early 2025 through Fuzz Club Records.

Background and Formation

MIEN was formed as a result of collaborative connections made over several years. The idea for the group began in 2004 when Rishi Dhir, noted for his work with Elephant Stone, met Alex Maas of The Black Angels during South by Southwest (SXSW). Their meeting initiated a friendship and a series of musical collaborations. Around the same period, Dhir connected with John-Mark Lapham, whose skills in electronic production played a significant role in shaping the project’s sonic direction. Robb Kidd, who had previously collaborated with Alex Maas, joined MIEN on drums in 2018, further enhancing their lineup.

Musical Output

MIEN released their self-titled debut album in 2017, presenting a combination of psychedelic elements and experimental sounds. Their upcoming album, set to release in early 2025, will expand on their established style while exploring new creative directions. The release will come nearly eight years after their debut, highlighting the band’s emphasis on crafting music that reflects their collaborative efforts and shared influences.
