Second full-length by Luna Jiménez breaks with EBM tendencies in favor of power electronics and death industrial structure

SARCOMA, the solo project of Madrid-based performer and noise producer Luna Jiménez, will release its second full-length album KAAMOS through She/Her Records on May 29. Recorded after a period spent in Finland, the album draws its title from the Finnish word for “polar night” and focuses on recurring themes in Jiménez’s work, including borderline personality disorder, dysphoria, and isolation.

KAAMOS departs from the rhythmic structures that characterized parts of her previous work and moves instead toward denser territories of power electronics, death industrial, and sample-based manipulation. The release follows 2024’s NOT CROSSES, which appeared via Lotura Records and was also issued in a remixed vinyl edition.

Prior to KAAMOS, SARCOMA also issued Peritoneal Disseminations, an EP centering on personal loss, and released a manifesto-like digital album TRANSgressive HNW Experiments, framed explicitly as transfeminist propaganda. Her recordings incorporate layered textures, abrupt tonal shifts, and confrontational themes, while performances often feature an active political dimension. She has shared stages with artists including Lydia Lunch, and toured as part of a trio with Narcoléptica and Berlangãlan.

SARCOMA emerged more visibly after a track was included in the 2023 Autoplacer compilation. The project intersects multiple subgenres, drawing from harsh noise, EBM, sissy hypno samples, and post-punk influences. It also features personal and physical confrontation with themes of transness and trauma, including performative nudity used to counter normative and pornographic framing of trans bodies.

Jiménez previously contributed to projects such as La Profecía, Dunkelwald, Junio, and Asalto. Beyond SARCOMA, she maintains a zine archive and uses direct mailing lists and guestlist systems to promote accessibility for trans and neurodivergent audiences at live shows.
