Sex Swing reveals third studio album Golden Triangle with a new video

Sex Swing Announces New Video ‘Pat Jasan’ and Upcoming Album ‘Golden Triangle’

The British noise-rock band Sex Swing has released a video for their track “Pat Jasan,” taken from their forthcoming third album, Golden Triangle. The album is scheduled for release on 4 October 2024 via God Unknown Records. The video features choreography by The Meyer Dancers, a London-based group that specializes in 1960s-inspired go-go and psychedelic dance. The track “Pat Jasan” is named after an anti-drug movement in northern Myanmar, known for its controversial methods such as armed raids and forced rehabilitation.

Artist: Sex Swing
Description: Sex Swing release the video for Pat Jasan featuring The Meyer Dancers ahead of their third studio album Golden Triangle, out October 2024 via God Unknown Records.

Sex Swing has announced several autumn tour dates, beginning with a performance on 5 October at Walthamstow Trades Hall, as part of a celebration for the 10th anniversary of God Unknown Records. Additionally, the band will perform at the Le Guess Who? Festival in Utrecht on 9 November 2024.

The album’s title, Golden Triangle, refers to the border region between Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos, an area known for its striking natural landscapes as well as its involvement in drug production. The album explores these themes through a mix of heavy rhythms, intense guitars, and saxophone, continuing Sex Swing’s style. The band was formed in 2014 and consists of Jason Stoll (bass), Stuart Bell (drums), Jodie Cox (guitar), Oli Knowles (synthesizer/guitar), and Colin Webster (saxophone).

This third album highlights the band’s progression from their earlier self-titled debut and the 2020 release Type II. While maintaining the raw energy of their previous work, Golden Triangle introduces more complex structures. The recording process began during the pandemic with programmed beats and home recordings, later refined during sessions at a farm in Oxfordshire. The album was recorded by Stanley Gravett at Holy Mountain Studios in Hackney, mixed by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse, and mastered by James Plotkin. The album artwork was created by Alex Bunn, marking another collaboration with the artist.

Golden Triangle is set for release on 4 October 2024, and Sex Swing’s tour dates and festival appearances promise a continuation of their evolving sound.
