Description: Slide by Mick Butler, also known as SICKY, previews the upcoming album Troubled Delight, out February 14, featuring collaborations and raw production.

Originally from the Black Country region and now based in Shropshire, his sound combines melodic elements with raw textures. Slide follows the earlier single I’m Happy If You’re Happy, which focuses on themes of temptation and human dynamics.

Mick Butler is a multi-instrumentalist and producer whose career spans a variety of musical projects. His early work includes performing with Papa Mantra, known for its brass-heavy style, and SUMO, a band rooted in rhythm-driven compositions. Transitioning to solo work, Butler has developed an approach where he combines conventional instruments with unconventional sounds sourced from everyday items, including broken violins, ukuleles, glockenspiels, and bells.

Butler released his debut album, Bowling Balls, in 2021, drawing inspiration from Ray Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles. This was followed in 2022 by Garbage Town, a sophomore album characterized by its layered instrumentation and introspective themes. He produces and records his music independently in Shropshire, with mastering completed by Charlie Francis at Synergy Mastering in Cardiff.

Slide was released on January 16, 2025, and is available on digital platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp. The full album, Troubled Delight, will be released on February 14, 2025.
