Metropolis Records releases first single from upcoming SKOLD album

Tim Skold has released “All Humans Must Be Destroyed” through Metropolis Records on June 27th as the first material from his upcoming studio album. The track examines artificial intelligence and questions whether certain individuals might already function as automatons.

The single arrives as Skold continues his three-decade trajectory through industrial and electronic territories. His output spans multiple projects and collaborations, from early hard rock formations to recent hip-hop crossovers, maintaining consistent productivity across shifting musical landscapes.

Skold emerged from Sweden’s late-1980s rock scene via Shotgun Messiah before establishing his solo presence in 1996. His debut album on RCA Records produced “Chaos” and “Hail Mary,” both subsequently licensed for film and gaming applications. The industrial collective KMFDM recruited him for three albums between 1997 and 2002, plus a later 2009 return. He co-founded MDFMK with KMFDM‘s Sascha Konietzko in 2000.

Marilyn Manson brought Skold into their operation in 2002, where he contributed production, writing and performance to “The Golden Age of Grotesque” and “Eat Me, Drink Me.” His work included their covers of “Tainted Love” and “Personal Jesus.” After departing in 2008, Skold resumed solo activities with “Anomie” (2011), “The Undoing” (2016), “Never Is Now” (2019), and “Dies Irae” (2021).

Production work expanded his reach into metal territory through Motionless In White‘s “Infamous” (2012) and “Reincarnate” (2014), both achieving notable chart positions. Recent years brought the Not My God trilogy with Nero Bellum of Psyclon Nine (2020-2023), collaboration with alt-rock outfit Love Ghost in 2024.
