Kroppskännedom’s debut LP introduces Andreas Malm’s solo sound experiments

Kroppskännedom is the first solo album by Andreas Malm, set to be released on February 12, 2025, under morc records. The limited edition 12” LP marks a new chapter in Malm’s long-standing involvement in the Malmö, Sweden music scene.

Andreas Malm has been active in various music projects over the past decades. Based in Malmö, he has contributed to a range of experimental and minimalist music endeavors. His work includes the free-rock experimentation of Fria Konstellationen, the tape-based drone project Amph, the synth-based output of Skeppet, and the minimalist rock group Eternal Music Society. While these projects have established him as a prominent figure in Malmö’s experimental music circles, Kroppskännedom is Malm’s first solo effort.

Malm’s solo work focuses on exploring sound textures through slow, repetitive tracks built from decaying tapes and overdriven amplifiers.

The Kroppskännedom LP features six tracks recorded over several years in Malmö. The compositions emphasize texture over melody, beginning with Antares, a brief yet mood-setting opener. Guitars play a key role on the A-side, functioning as cyclical waves of sound rather than traditional instrumental parts. The B-side shifts towards a more rhythmic focus while maintaining the overarching experimental aesthetic.

Collaborators include Sofie Herner (Leda, Neutral, Enhet för Fri Musik), who contributes vocals to Vara med dig and guitar on Sluta, and David Roeder (Nein Rodere), who adds melodica and setar to Vara med dig, as well as vocals on Ambros II. Their input integrates seamlessly into the album’s sonic fabric.
