SNEERS. announce May 1 release of (Don’t Quit Before) The Miracle
After four years of silence, the duo SNEERS. have scheduled the release of their next studio album, (Don’t Quit Before) The Miracle, for May 1 on God Unknown Records. The record was produced by Jamie Stewart of the experimental project Xiu Xiu. Ahead of the full release, the group has issued the lead single and accompanying video, To My Serpent, You.

The project consists of Italian singer and guitarist M. Greta Blaankart and drummer Leonardo O. Stefenelli. Originally formed in Berlin before relocating to Rome, SNEERS. have previously collaborated with Kristof Hahn of Swans, who provided lap-steel guitar for their 2018 album Heaven Will Rescue Us, We’re the Scum, We’re in the Sun. Their subsequent 2022 release, Tales For Violent Days, was produced by Freddie Murphy of Father Murphy.
The lyrical content of the new material continues Blaankart’s focus on spirituality, guilt, and the juxtaposition of religious imagery. The collaboration with Stewart follows the band’s established trajectory of working within the experimental and post-punk fringes. The Wire has previously categorized their sound through the lens of Southern Gothic and swamp-based aesthetics.
M. Greta Blaankart is a songwriter and guitarist who founded SNEERS. in Berlin during the early 2010s. Her work is characterized by non-linear narrative structures and a vocal style that fluctuates between spoken word and melodic tension. Leonardo O. Stefenelli joined as the permanent drummer, contributing to the band’s shift toward more percussive, industrial-influenced arrangements. Together, they have toured across Europe and the UK. Beyond SNEERS., Blaankart has been involved in visual arts and independent film scoring.
