“Stay For The Night” is an upbeat track dedicated to the post-punk, goth rock, and darkwave community. The song explores themes of unbalanced affection, with one person desiring to depart a relationship or social setting while the other pleads for them to remain.
Mic Jogwer, the band’s vocalist and guitarist, explains that the song is a tribute to the post-punk/goth rock community that has supported the band throughout their career. He emphasizes the sense of belonging and camaraderie found within this subculture.
The band, formed in 1985, currently consists of Mic Jogwer (vocals, guitar), Paul Richter (drums), and Luca Sammuri (bass). Their first album, “If Two Worlds Kiss,” was a significant release in the darkwave genre and cemented their place in the post-punk scene.
“Black Swan,” the band’s new album, takes its name from the concept of unforeseen events that seem predictable in hindsight. This follows their 2021 album, “Tainted,” the accompanying “Tainted Tour 2022” EP, and successful tours in America and Europe.
Following the album’s release, Pink Turns Blue will embark on their “Black Swan” tour in Germany in April 2025, with additional dates in Belgium, the US, and Canada throughout the year.
Born in 1966, Mic Jogwer is a German musician, singer, and songwriter, primarily recognized as the frontman of the post-punk band Pink Turns Blue. He founded the band in Cologne, Germany, in 1985. Jogwer’s musical style draws inspiration from bands like Joy Division, The Sound, and The Chameleons. Beyond his work with Pink Turns Blue, Jogwer has also been involved in various music and media projects, including producing CD-ROMs and websites. He is also a published author, having written the book “Music For The Masses.”
“Stay For The Night” is currently accessible on major streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify. The “Black Swan” album will be available digitally and in limited-edition vinyl and CD formats.
