The Black Crowes formed in Marietta, Georgia, in 1984 under the name Mr. Crowe’s Garden. The core of the band consists of siblings Chris Robinson (vocals) and Rich Robinson (guitar). Their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker, was released in 1990 on Def American Recordings and reached number four on the Billboard 200. The band has undergone several hiatuses, notably between 2002 and 2005, and again from 2015 to 2019.
