Adam Young on The Howlers’ Second Album: Late Nights, Recklessness, and the Morning After
The Howlers have announced their second album, Heavy, due on 9th October via Frontiers Label Group. The announcement comes with a new single, “Viper”, and an accompanying video featuring frontman Adam Young in a leather fringe jacket.

The track sits within a desert rock idiom, driving riffs against more restrained vocals. Young sings: “I’m not your usual type, but let’s pretend for the night.”
In a statement, Young describes the album as rooted in late-night experiences and impulsive decisions, and in what comes after: “the mirror in the morning, the wake up call, and the harsh reality of knowing those feelings won’t always last.”
The band’s debut, What You’ve Got To Lose To Win It All, reached the UK Official Charts Top 10 and charted across mainland Europe, followed by a headline European tour last March. Behind the scenes, the band were under significant strain from the pressures of independent releasing. Young subsequently restructured the group as a two-piece and put out two singles, “Night Crawling” and “You Can Be So Cruel”, before moving into the second album.
