Allan Tannenbaum’s “Fun City” Lands in Spain for the First Time at Contrast Ibiza Festival

This year, the Contrast Ibiza Festival returns with a landmark cultural event: the first Spanish exhibition by renowned New York photographer Allan Tannenbaum (read our interview with Allan Tannenbaum).

An Iconic Visual Travel

His collection, “Fun City,” offers an unfiltered look at New York’s urban evolution through the 1970s and 80s. Opening on May 9th at 7:00 PM in the Walter Benjamin Room, the exhibition showcases Tannenbaum’s legendary ability to document the grit and glamour of urban culture.

Best known for capturing the intimate final moments of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Tannenbaum’s distinguished portfolio includes work for Time, Newsweek, and New York Magazine. This event marks the first time Tannenbaum’s work has been exhibited in Spain.

Live Music & Inauguration

The festival will be inaugurated by Gilby Clarke, guitarist from the “Golden Era” of Guns N’ Roses. In a rare Spanish appearance, Clarke will perform a live set featuring GNR hits alongside rock classics from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. This cross-disciplinary approach promises a seamless blend of live music and visual culture in an accessible, open-air format.
