The Speed of Sound, an indie rock and power pop group based in Manchester, has unveiled A Cornucopia: Bounty, the final installment in the trilogy A Cornucopia: Minerva, Victory, Bounty. Released through Big Stir Records, this album follows the previous entries Minerva and Victory, completing the ambitious three-album series. The record is available on vinyl and CD, as well as digitally on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and Bandcamp.

The band also released a video for “Jaunt,” the B-side to their single “Artificial Paradise.” Described as a fast-paced garage-punk track, “Jaunt” incorporates a mutated blues structure and a horn section. The single is intended as an anti-AI anthem, with a vigorous, energetic sound.
Formed in 1989, The Speed of Sound’s origins trace back to the day Andy Warhol died in 1987. The group currently consists of John Armstrong (guitars, vocals), Henry Armstrong (keyboards), Ann-Marie Crowley (vocals, guitar), Kevin Roache (bass), and John Broadhurst (drums). This family-based collaboration spans decades, with the inclusion of father-and-son members.
Bounty completes the trilogy by expanding on the lyrical and stylistic diversity of its predecessors. The themes explored across the trilogy include evolution, social commentary, and human potential. Referencing influences like Tomorrow People and David Bowie’s “Oh You Pretty Things,” the band incorporates concepts of human transformation and progress.
