New Tigerleech album Bicephalous now streaming and available on CD

Tigerleech return with Bicephalous, an album shaped during a period of internal change and external standstill. Out now on CD and digital formats through Octopus Rising and Argonauta Records, the record documents a shift both in line-up and focus. A new rhythm section and a second guitarist extend the group’s sound beyond its earlier frameworks, producing a heavier iteration of their sludge-rooted hardcore.

The album’s release follows the earlier circulation of the track “Hara-kiri of the Capitalist Model by Its Own Users,” which appeared accompanied by a lyric video. Positioned between aggressive tempos and slow, crushing passages, the track marks one of the more direct interventions on Bicephalous. Across the record, the combination of sludge, stoner, and hardcore elements is maintained, although the expanded line-up allows for greater density in the compositions.

Formed in 2013 in Paris, Tigerleech first emerged with the demo Danse Macabre (2014), a four-track release issued shortly after the band’s inception. Following live performances across the Paris area, the group recorded a second EP in 2016. Between 2017 and 2018, they performed in cities such as Rennes, Valenciennes, and Saint-Brieuc, consolidating a presence within France’s heavy music circuits. Their first full-length album, The Edge of the End (2019), produced by Andrew Guillotin, was self-released and supported by a national tour.

During the pandemic hiatus, Tigerleech worked on new material, leading to the recording of Melancholy Bridge (2021), again with Guillotin producing. Released through MetO Music, this second album introduced a more melodic and structured approach without abandoning the weight of earlier material. Performances resumed in 2022, including appearances at Hellfest Off Festival and Napalm Festival, alongside a Paris concert supporting Ecstatic Vision.
