Independent Project Records Unveils Ten Unreleased Tracks from WOO Archive

Independent Project Records (IPR) will release an expanded edition of WOO’s debut album, Whichever Way You Are Going, You Are Going Wrong, on January 16, 2026. The release includes a remixed and remastered version of the original album, ten previously unreleased bonus tracks compiled as a mini-album, and new artwork. Formats include black and limited edition clear vinyl, Special Edition CD, and digital distribution. The first single from the reissue, “Swingtime”, is available on digital platforms.

Whichever Way You Are Going, You Are Going Wrong was originally released in 1982 on the band’s The Sunshine Series Records label. The album comprises thirteen tracks recorded by brothers Mark and Clive Ives in their South London home studio. The recordings combine jazz, analogue electronica, pop, and elements of muzak, alongside experimental arrangements.

Mark and Clive Ives began home recording in the late 1970s, producing material across multiple styles. The selection of tracks for the debut LP represents recordings from this period, with the brothers describing them as diverse yet complementary. The 2026 expanded edition adds material from the late 1970s and 1980s that had not been previously issued.

WOO is a U.K. duo formed by brothers Mark and Clive Ives in South London. Their work spans electronic experimentation, pop structures, and improvisational approaches. Prior to their debut LP, the brothers produced home recordings across multiple genres. WOO has continued releasing music intermittently over subsequent decades, including the two-album package Robot X / Xylophonics, released by IPR in 2024.

Independent Project Records was founded by Bruce Licher, a graphic designer and musician, whose hand-letterpress packaging has accompanied label releases since 1982. The expanded edition of Whichever Way You Are Going, You Are Going Wrong is the second WOO release through Independent Project Records since the label’s 2020 relaunch.
